Heartwork; Day 24.

“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, ‘Some people have faith; others have good deeds.’ But I say, ‘How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.’ You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?” [James 2:17-20]

To say I have faith is one thing, but to actually live by my faith is a revolutionary. That’s a game changer. It shouldn’t be that way. It should be normal. Many so-called Christians don’t show their faith with their actions. I’m guilty of that. My flesh gets the best of me and I don’t exactly make godly actions. I can’t just talk about my faith, I have to act upon it. I have to love God’s people like He does. I have to care for them like He does. I have to pray for and encourage those who are in need of God.

Lord, help me to be an advocate for those in need. Open my eyes to see those in need. Fill me with the courage and strength do something about it. I want to make a difference. I want to be that difference. I want to actually live out my faith. May I learn to hear You. Open my ears to Your Word. You are unchanging, unfailing, unrelenting. You are wonderful. You give and give so much love ad compassion. I want to be like You. I need to be like You. My life depends on it. Come and take possession of this heart my Lord. As school goes on, fill me with peace and power to press on. All I need is You.
